Volunteer Drivers
During the school year, we need volunteer drivers on Wednesday evenings to transport packed food bags from St. Columbanus Parish to Blooming Prairie Elementary School.
Volunteer drivers must be able to use their own vehicle and have enough cargo space to carry approximately 10–12 plastic totes filled with bags of food. When you arrive at the elementary school, a cart is available to help move the totes into the conference room.
This is a simple but vital role that helps ensure food reaches participating students each week.
Volunteer Packers
We also need volunteer packers at various times throughout the school year. It generally takes only 20–30 minutes to pack more than 100 bags of food.
Packing is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals, families, community organizations, service groups and workplace teams.

Every donation to the Blooming Prairie Backpack Program helps provide food and grocery vouchers to local students and families experiencing food insecurity.
Your generosity allows us to purchase food for weekly backpack bags, stock snack cupboards and provide food vouchers that families can redeem for essential groceries. Every contribution, regardless of size, makes a meaningful difference in our community.
